Dr. Kevin McCauley is a physician and filmmaker specializing in addiction recovery. A former Naval Flight Surgeon, he observed the Navy’s innovative approach to treating addiction as a safety issue, inspiring his lifelong commitment to recovery science. Dr. McCauley wrote and directed Memo to Self and Pleasure Unwoven, acclaimed films on recovery management and the neuroscience of addiction. Winner of the 2010 NAATP Michael Q. Ford Journalism Award, he advocates for dignity, respect, and equal access to treatment. In long-term recovery himself, Dr. McCauley brings a unique perspective to understanding addiction across diverse cultures and identities.
